WH- Questions in the Simple Present Tense
WH- questions are used to ask for specific information. They begin with a WH- word (what, where, when, why, who, which, whose, how) and follow a specific word order in the simple present tense.
Structure:
The general structure of WH- questions in the simple present tense is:
WH- word + Auxiliary verb (do/does) + Subject + Main verb (base form) + (Object/Complement)?
When to use “do” and “does”:
- “Do” is used with the subject pronouns: I, you, we, they, and plural nouns.
- “Does” is used with the subject pronouns: he, she, it, and singular nouns.
